I don’t know when my baby will arrive, when shall I book my newborn session?

As soon as possible!

Most of my clients book in after their 20week scan to ensure they have their spot secured. All I need is your due date and then I pencil in 2 weeks either side of that. Baby’s come when they want, as soon as baby is here, drop me a message so I can arrange my diary to get to you! The sooner I can photograph baby the better! 

Does my session include parent and sibling shots?

100% I encourage it! All my sessions include parent and sibling shots.

Lots of times parents shy away from being in front of the camera, but trust me - your children will thank you for it! I get it, you may feel tired and blah, but I got you! Nothing cringe or posed, just you and your family - I promise you wont regret it. Also, if you have a dog that you want to get involved, i’m sooo here for that too!

Do you come to us?

Yes! I come to you as an in-home photographer, saves you having to leave the house! All I need is a space cleared from clutter next to any large window or patio doors around your house that lets in lots of natural light, open all the curtains and turn off any artificial lights. I bring with me light diffusing curtains which I will hang up over your curtain pole or use my backdrop stands if you don’t have one. The best time for in-home sessions are during daylight hours, usually in the morning or early afternoon - starting your session between 9am - 2pm usually gives the best light and happiest family members! After I have booked you in, I will get you to send me a video of your home so you can show me around, so I can see what rooms will work best with the light…sounds odd - but trust the process :) Ideally, I need big patio windows or a floor length window that lets in lots of beautiful natural light. Once the non refundable session retainer fee has been paid,  I will send you my Session Guide which will explain everything!

I add travel costs if you live further than 30 minutes from Sevenoaks.

This flat rate fee covers, my petrol & time traveling to and from your home/location of session:

• 30 mins from Sevenoaks - Free and included in your session fee

• 1hr from Sevenoaks - Additional £75

• 2hrs from Sevenoaks - Additional £95

• 3hrs from Sevenoaks - Additional - £150

• 4hrs from Sevenoaks - Additional - £300

Can we have a session outside, rather than in our home?

Of course! All my maternity and family sessions come with the option to shoot on location. I have a few gorgeous spots where I take my families and these are best done as the sun is setting so we get those gorgeous golden hour sun. They work best once the clocks go forward due to the sad winter days getting dark so quickly.

These are not suitable for my Newborn sessions.

What shall we wear?

From my photos, you can probably tell that I’m a neutral, whites and creams kinda girl. I like to keep things simple and timeless so the focus is on your family.

Avoid saturated colours such as red, cyan, magenta and anything neon as this will reflect on the skin and leave unwanted colour casts.

Avoid black if possible, it’s often too dark for an indoor session – go with grey instead and avoid big patterns and shirts with large logos, unicorns and football kits as this can take away from the overall feel and look of your images.

Once the non refundable session retainer fee has been paid,  I will send you my Session Guide which has lots of idea’s of what to wear and styling.

For newborns & Mumma’s, I have a small selection of items in my client closet that I can bring. Think gorgeous hand knitted rompers, nappy covers and gorgeous maxi dresses.

Do you have themes or props for the session?

No. I am a theme free and prop free photographer.

For newborns I only use cosy blankets and wraps as I want the attention to be purely on them. For my older babies and children, again, no props or themes. Just natural and simple, them being them.

For your First Birthday sessions, do you provide the cake?

Unfortunately, I do not provide the cake… I am useless at baking! No joke, someone may get food poisoning. All you need is a simple sponge cake with lots and lots of icing! Like them cute semi naked cakes - yep, something like that! I can highly recommend @theteashopbrasted (which you can find on Insta) for a fabulous cake! 

I dont use decorations or props for my First Birthday sessions. My only ‘prop’ is the cake and baby, as I don’t want to distract from them. A few white balloons look really cute as well.

Which First Birthday Session should I pick?

If you are opting for a cake smash, please bear in mind that it will get messy! The best place for the session is on a wooden/laminate floor to be able to wipe up the cake. If you only have carpeted areas in your home then I would opt for a simple smash with no cake.

What happens if my baby/children don’t play ball?

Please don’t worry!

Even if your baby cries, doesn’t sleep (ideally we want them to sleep the entire session which rarely happens), I will work around your baby getting different angles and embracing them as they are. Usually they end up drifting off after a nappy change, milk break and cuddles. My newborn sessions are all baby led and nothing is forced.

For older babies and children - it can be daunting meeting a new person with a big camera pointing in their face, I get it.

I tell jokes, act like a kid and reassure your littles so please don’t worry. Your images will be gorgeous regardless of any toddler melt downs! Again, all purely led by the littles being them.

I don’t know how to pose in photographs - help?

I know sometimes the idea of a camera in your face is daunting - but I GOT YOU! My whole vibe is natural and chilled, nothing posey and awkward. My aim is to capture you as a family and as you are - laughing, playing and looking all cute and stuff! I will give you some gentle direction as to where the light sits best and what angles work best, please don’t worry.

Can I suggest poses for my session?

You can, however I will be honest if I think they won’t work or take away from the overall look and feel to my style of photography.

What happens on the day of the session?

Open up the curtains and turn off any harsh lights. If you could move any clutter away from the session space, that would be great too! Don’t go mad and have a deep clean of your house though.

Once I have set up, I will get to work photographing your lovely little family. If we are shooting on location, literally just turn up at our pre-arranged spot and leave the rest to me!

What happens after my session, when will I be able to see my images?

A few days after your session I will post some sneak peaks on my socials and tag you in them (providing you have given consent to share).

Around 2-3 weeks after your session your online gallery will be ready. I will send you a password protected link and you will see your beautiful gallery in all its glory (get the tissues ready as there are always lots of happy tears)!

You will then have 48 hours to view your gallery and select your chosen 10 images or decide to upgrade. Due to the amount of clients I have, I am unable to extend the gallery for any longer than 48 hours and your selection must be made within those timescales.

How much does it cost and do you require a deposit?

The fee for all of my sessions is £400. This includes 10 images of your choice from the gallery to download, 1 x complimentary luxury 8x10” print and a whole heap of love.

To secure your session, I require a £100 non refundable session retainer fee which is deducted from your final balance. This is due within 48 hours of booking or the slot will be released to someone else.

A minimum of 48 hours before your session or on the day, the final balance must be paid - minus the non refundable session retainer fee you have paid.

Travel fee’s may apply if you live further than 1hr from me (please see above).

Can I upgrade my session?

Absolutely yes! My most popular upgrade is “The Middle One”.

No pressure though.

My pricing structure is simple and clear - you pay for your session which includes 10 beautiful images of your choice from the gallery to download and 1 x complimentary luxury 8x10” print.

Each gallery has 40+ images and if after seeing your finished gallery you wanted to upgrade to more images/prints, I have 3 collections to choose from.

You can either walk away with your 10 images and 1 print that you have paid for - or upgrade.

Can I buy digitals, prints and wall art from you?

YES! Of course you can! Once you have received your gallery, you have the option to purchase prints, wall art and albums from an amazing print lab that I have used for years.

What good are your photos stuck in the cloud somewhere? They should be printed for everyone to see! Re-decorate your downstairs loo if you must! 

I do recommend getting your products directly through me to guarantee quality, but you are under no obligation to do so. I am not liable for any prints or products I have not supplied, especially lower quality high street printers. (I've tried supermarket printers and online cheaper labs and in all honestly - they look pretty poo!)
